On a trip last year to Paris, lucky for me, our hotel was located right around the block from Ladurée, perhaps the most famous Paris pastry shop and the birthplace of macarons. Apparently they sell more than 15,000 macarons every day! It’s hard not to get excited looking at the vast colors and range of macarons available in a multitude of flavors. Hot Fruit Compote

For the long holiday weekend, my family went skiing. I couldn't help but notice there was always some sort of hot fruit dessert available to the weary, cold skiers. It made me realize that comfort food doesn't always have to be served in the form of a binding casserole dish or a hot chilli soup. It can be a dessert too.
