Snow has been steadily falling for the past few hours, turning the city into a peaceful winter diorama. Temperatures have plummeted to low teens and we’re bracing for another bitter day today complete with ample sledding, movie watching, reading and eating. It’s starting to feel more characteristic of winter. Yesterday was a cold, grey, raw day with steady sleet and the occasional wind gust that takes your breath away. Turkey Meatloaf
The days are getting cooler, turning darker earlier, and my kids are demanding more substantial meals. Gone are the days of summer where a simple barbequed fish and some steamed veggies would satisfy their appetites. It seems as though we're moving into crock pot territory: home-cooked, hearty meals of meat and potatoes and pasta.
