As I spent the afternoon in my kitchen testing out some of Mom's recipes for some holiday articles I'm writing. I found myself needing a bunch of ingredients for the dishes. Grilled Bell Pepper Salad
We've just recently fallen in love with peppers-- as a family. Peppers have never been our go-to vegetable but, last week I was inspired by the beautifully-hued peppers at my neighborhood market. I really have never used peppers in my cooking outside of the Roasted Red Pepper dip I made last year. While it's tasty and received thumbs up from my adult taste testers, my kids thought it was just mediocre. Honey-Drizzled Watermelon
Eating al fresco is a guarantee for us in the summertime. On the weekends, if it’s not raining, you can usually find me cooking at the grill and eating at the outdoor table underneath the generous umbrella. Another summer-must: enjoy the myriad seasonal fruit for dessert. If I’m not actually making the dessert, we head over to the local farmer’s stand to treat ourselves to one of the freshly-bake crumb pies that are beyond tasty.
