The stressful part about dinnertime for me is diversifying our meal options. I’ve gone to great lengths these past two years to try to vary our dishes so we’re not eating chicken with broccoli every night. I’ve also taken a lot of pride in making most of our dinners from scratch. Ultimate Breakfast: Freekeh and Fruit
I think I’m probably out of the norm when I say that I truly enjoy receiving interesting foods to sample and review. My most recent discovery came Friday afternoon in a non-descript white envelope shipped from Freekehlicious LLC. Sounds like a gift from a Halloween novelty shop, right? Au contraire. Inside, instead of scary masks and costumes, were two bags filled with Greenwheat Freekeh. Have you every even heard of Freekeh? Angel Food French Toast
Angel Food cake is one of my favorite sponge cakes. I adore its light airy texture laced with that hint of sweetness. In fact, to me, it doesn’t taste like cake at all, probably because it’s made from very basic ingredients like whipped egg whites, sugar and flour. Because of it’s angelic name, it doesn’t evoke any guilt for me when it’s eaten. Now, Devil’s Food Cake is a totally different story.
